Run the race

"...let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us..." Hebrews 12:1

I have attempted to go jogging regularly in past years and have never been successful. I wouldn't say that I'm not athletic...but running does NOT come easily for me. I can't ever seem to get the breathing down and I lack discipline. But, once again, I have set a goal for myself to 'train' over the next four weeks so that I might be able to run in an annual 5K race on the weekend of the 4th of July. It's called the Butte to Butte and it sounds scary, but I'm going to go for it anyway! I even subscribed to Runner's World magazine in hopes for some hints and inspiration. So I've been walking the last four days for 20 mins each day and will continue to do so for the next four days. Then I'll gradually increase my time and distance and incorporate jogging. It's part of a program that I found in the first issue I received - it's as if the editors of the magazine selected several articles that were written just for me! I am not going to give up this time - my boys just won't let me!...look out buttes! Here I come!

Congrats on your aspiration to run your first race!!! I had grand aspirations to run an 8K next weekend but have come to the conclusion a pregnant bladder does NOT enjoy running! Keep it up! I know you will be hooked on races once you run your first one! It's so awesome! I'm so jealous!
