It's amazing how much can change in one month. We have been in our new home for about six weeks now, and so much has been going on. We are slowly furnishing our cute little rental and starting to feel moved in. We have already had many visitors, including Emilio's sister from Texas, as well as his aunts and cousins, my brother and his kids, and grandma Elena. We have been enjoying our summer exploring the city, and we found a great little park in downtown Vancouver that has a neat water feature for kids to play in - quite refreshing on these last very hot days!
I just finished new teacher induction/orientation last week. I am amazed at how different this district is. The superintendent seems to have a passion for students AND teachers, and the district is tremendously supportive and accommodating so that the teachers can be their best. I also have been trying to do some work on my classroom, which is a bit overwhelming. Getting everything just right can be a little tricky. I'm getting there. I have to report for training on Monday, Aug 30th, and then Thursday is Back-to-School night where students and parents come check out their new classrooms. School officially starts Sept 8th!
Emilio will be going back to school too! He is very excited to finish his bachelors degree on line through Grand Canyon University, so that he can stay home with the boys. I am such a lucky woman! He starts on the 30th as well.
